About CAMAC

CAMAC is Center for Media Advocacy for Mother and Child, a media advocacy NGO, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), as an Incorporated Trustee, with focus on developmental issues affecting Women and Children.

To build a society where every necessity required for the survival of every child and every woman in our communities are sufficiently made available.

To use the media as a tool for advocacy and promotion of policies and programmes that would engender a society where the necessity required for children and women survival are made available sufficiently.

WHO WE ARE

We are media advocacy group representing the voice of the voiceless, women and children in the society using the media to speak on their behalf.

WHAT WE DO

We are focused on advocating for policies and programmes that favors vulnerable women, adolescents girls and children in areas of education, health, child’s rights, protection, development and survival, and also Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), while also drawing government and other stakeholders attention to their plight in order to finding lasting solutions to their problem. As well as creating awareness and sensitizing the public on the above areas.

OUR CORE AREAS

Advocacy for vulnerable women, adolescent girls and children in areas of health, livelihood and education, using the media.
We monitor and track project implementation and report findings in the media
We support journalists who are passionate about the reportage of any issue that concerns women and children in the areas of manpower, capacity building and skill development in carrying out their duty.
We help communicate programmes and community action plans (CAP) in the language and forms target communities can understand.
We provide research and personnel assistance to groups; NGOs, CSOs, international organizations in areas of development research and community interventions.
We also mentors aspiring journalists to be come passionate about reporting any issue concerning women and children.
